Hello, I've been having this bad issue for a while now, I'm running Windows 8.1 64-bit, I've been looking around for solutions so the DirectX installer works whenever I try to install games (Setup hangs waiting for the DirectX installation to finish in background, which I can't since it's stuck at Initializing), I tried changing the version in the registry but it only worked once and even after changing it again it refuses to work and thinks it's up to date. I haven't had any problems other than this...I am going to try a clean boot and see if I can get the setup to at least work that way but I need a permanent fix for this besides having to reinstall the whole OS.
